Forever Is An Illusion.

You sit with your coffee mug,

Thinking of all the times you spent,

You never envisioned this ending.

It was for forever,

Forever was what you ever knew.

 

Days went by,

You found someone new,

But all you cared for,

Was still out there,

Doing the same things as you.

Maybe this was how it was meant to be,

Nothing lasts forever,

Not even you,

Forever is an illusion,

But that was all you ever knew.

 

Months go by,

An old pal visits,

You sit with your coffee mug,

Chatting about things,

She tells you about her forever,

You smile,

You are happy,

But you know one thing she doesn’t,

Forever is an illusion,

Yet that is all you ever knew.

I don’t really like this poem. Not one of my best work. At all. But I wrote it in like five minutes, and I felt like posting it. So I did. 😛
